Description

although i posted a photo of another box turtle [link] recently, i thought i would share this series shot yesterday afternoon

not long ago i had a friendly exchange with :iconryser915: concerning handling of wild creatures . . . we agree that even though 99.9% of the time you should not interfere, there may be the occasional exception, especially when they are trying to deal with man-made obstacles such as fences, roads, or in this case, a simple curb

when i found this little fellow, he had been overturned as a result of either falling off the curb or trying to climb over it . . . being on a flat, relatively smooth surface, there was no real chance of him righting himself . . . after flipping him right side up and taking a couple of shots, i relocated him to a nearby section of grass at the edge of woods

i have mentioned on other photos, wild animals are very different from their cartoon counterparts . . . for one thing, it is physically impossible for some of them to smile . . . i like to think this turtle was doing his best to smile when he turned his head while leaving :)

help please [link]

a big "thank you" for adding my photos to your favorites or collections . . . i will reply to comments, but i am no longer able to acknowledge every :+fav: . . . thanks so much for your support and understanding
